Twin mode - double stereo sound enjoyment

The difference between mono and stereo playback is fundamental to the musical experience. In mono playback, the entire audio signal comes from a single source - all instruments, voices and sounds merge into a one-dimensional sound image. True stereo playback, on the other hand, uses two separate channels: the left and right channels, which carry different information.

One device takes over the left channel, the other the right channel.

The intuitive operation makes Twin mode a user-friendly solution for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic stereo reproduction without complicated cabling. For the optimum stereo effect, the two P9 speakers should be positioned at an appropriate distance from each other. Ideally, they should form an equilateral triangle with your listening position.

The Escape P6 BT can also be paired with another P6 BT in twin mode to achieve impressive stereo sound. This more compact model is suitable for medium-sized indoor areas as well as balconies and terraces where high-quality stereo sound is required. 

The Escape P6 Air, on the other hand, does not support Twin Mode. The Bluetooth technology wasdesignedfor use with AppleAirPlay 2andGoogle Cast and instead offers powerful multi-room solutions that enable synchronized playback across multiple devices.

While Apple AirPlay and Google Cast are primarily designed for distributing music to different rooms, Twin Mode aims to create a single, coherent stereo sound stage. Both approaches have their justification - depending on the desired application scenario.

Proven hi-fi rules apply to the optimal placement of speakers in a room: The two speakers should bepositionedabouttwo to four meters apartand form an equilateral triangle with your listening position. Avoid placing them directly against walls or in corners, as this can distort the sound. Leaving a space of about 60 to 90 cm behind the speakers further improves sound dispersion. The free Escape app offers you additional options for controlling your Twin Mode system. You can use the app to conveniently operate both speakers together, for example to adjust the volume or select different sound profiles. This means you have the most important settings centrally under control at all times without having to work directly on the devices.
