Bright children's faces instead of discount battles
It's that time of year again on Friday: many retailers and online stores will be offering discount battles and people will be buying for all they're worth. We want to do things differently and work with you to bring a smile to the faces of less privileged children.
Simply make a donation without it costing you anything
Instead of relying on discounts, we want to launch a campaign that benefits people who are unfortunately somewhat marginalized in our society. People who can hardly afford anything, even with the huge discounts offered elsewhere. That's why we will be donating ten percent of sales from our online store at sonoro.de from November 27 - 29, 2020 to what we believe is a good cause.
Who does our donation go to?
As a Neuss-based company, some of our colleagues have been observing the work of the Social Service of Catholic Men (SKM) Neuss. One important task that SKM Neuss undertakes is the care of children and young people who have been taken away from their families or no longer have a family contact for other reasons. SKM Neuss acts as guardian for around 50 children and young people who are accommodated in residential facilities and host families.
The guardian/carer represents the interests of their ward in place of the parents and ensures their participation in society. As part of their work, they assume responsibility for the affairs of children and young people in all areas. For example, education, school attendance and training, residence, medical and therapeutic care, financial management and assistance with visits to the authorities.
What sounds like very important, yet dry help in everyday matters, goes much deeper than that. Over time, the guardians almost develop into a substitute for parents and, with great dedication, provide their wards with advice and support in almost all everyday matters. A good thing, in our opinion.
Offering a piece of "normality" at Christmas
Especially at Christmas time, the association faces the challenge every year of giving the children and young people a "normal", enjoyable Christmas time, perhaps even giving them a small Christmas present and offering them something "normal" at Christmas. Because there is no fixed budget available for this.
This is where we want to support and donate.
