Connect speaker cable correctly
At least as important as the wiring is the correct connection of the cables to the speakers. During installation, make sure that the cable is well screwed to the loudspeaker and amplifier. The cable will "settle" in the terminals over time. It will wear out somewhat. Therefore, it is best to retighten after one to two months.
In addition, the plus terminal (red) on the amplifier must also be connected to the plus terminal on the loudspeaker and minus (black) to minus. If plus and minus are reversed, the speakers will play in the opposite phase. The bass will become unclean as a result. To avoid this, we like to use the labeled cable side as plus as a little mnemonic, since usually only one side is labeled.
Last but not least, a little safety tip: Only remove or connect cables when the amplifier is switched off. Otherwise, there is a risk of a strong noise impulse that can damage the speakers.
